Questions? We’ve got the answers…
Who can I contact with questions about the RANT Conference?
Luke, Tom or Gemma can help:
- Lsmith@rantevents.com – General Questions
- Todams@rantevents.com – Sales Enquiries
- Gpaterson@rantevents.com – Speaking or Operational Enquiries
What if I’ve registered but can’t come/want to send someone in my place?
Don’t worry if you can’t make it, just please let us know in advance! Likewise, if you want to send someone in your place. Just make sure they meet our entry requirements.
What are your entry requirements?
RANT is a community of senior information security professionals who work at end-user organisations, so no vendors or consultancies please!
Do I have to bring my ticket to the event?
It does help, but no worries if you forget it. We have a top-of-the-range delegate tracking system, (a clipboard and pen), so all we need is your name and you’re good to go!
This sounds like a good event but I don’t know anyone!
We know how difficult it can be to start a conversation with people you don’t know, we’ve all been there.
But don’t worry, everyone attends our events to achieve the same goal: to talk about the industry, meet new people, and partake in a beer or two en route to said goal.
We encourage you to grab one of the RANT team and we’ll do our best to introduce you to people who we think might interest you. If It’s your first time or you don’t know anyone, just let one of the team know prior to the event or at the front desk when you arrive. Or just shout loud enough and we will come and find you.
We’ve been running these types of event for 10 years now and we’re quite proud of the community we’ve managed to build up over the years. We’re certain you’ll find the quality of the networking you can achieve at a RANT event unparalleled and a great way to dive deeper into the industry with your peers.
What is RANT? What’s the angle?
RANT provides a unique platform for the Information Security community to discuss and debate real-life, pertinent and controversial industry topics that encourage participation and controversial debate. All RANT Events operate under the Chatham House Rule. It’s an opportunity for everyone to voice their opinions, views and suggestions throughout the talks in a relaxed environment and to network with likeminded professionals. You can have a beer on us too!
Basically, we have a a few speakers, plenty of beer and a great pub environment. The speaker kicks of the discussion and the guests are encouraged to listen, engage, voice their opinions and challenges in a reasonably civilised manor. The discussion lasts around an hour and there is plenty of time to continue talking with your peers after the discussion ends.
RANT prides itself on being a completely sales free zone and hence it is closed to security vendors and consultancies except for sponsorship.
RANT sounds awesome and I want contribute! How do I get involved as a speaker?
That’s great! We are always looking for interesting speakers and new ideas. Just grab one of the team or drop an email to Gemma: firstname.lastname@example.org so we can discuss things further.
I really want to attend but I work for a Security Vendor, is there anyway I can get involved?
Yes! RANT has plenty of sponsorship opportunities, just email Tom to find out more: Todams@rantevent.com
What other events do you do?
We host a monthly RANT Forum in Central London, usually attracting around 80-100 people on the last Wednesday evening of every month. We also run these in Manchester 3-4 times a year. These are our bread and butter events and are a great way to get a feel for what we’re about, over a beer and a good discussion.
We also have an annual Conference in London for around 350 delegates, this is our flagship event where we bring together our community for a full day and evening of multiple topical discussions, presentations, workshops, entertainment and plenty of good food and drinks.
RANT Reloaded is a condensed version of our Conference, sort of an amalgamation of our Monthly Forum and Annual Conference. We’ll be taking this on the road in 2017 with a foray to Manchester.
Finally, we host a range of bespoke events ranging from Christmas and Summer parties to CISO round-table dinners to Webcasts and beyond.
I want my CPE points!
After every event you attend you will receive a follow-up email containing a statement you can use as a receipt for your CPE points through (ISC)2 & ISACA. At our events you can claim one credit per speaker/session.
